According to a study carried out by NewLink, the Latino vote could be decisive in the US presidential elections, with the data showing that 78.1% of Dominicans and 77% of Mexicans in the US plan to vote for Barack Obama.
On the other hand, Cuban-Americans appear to prefer Mitt Romney with 51.7% saying they would vote for him.
The survey, sponsored by Florida International University and the Miami Herald, was carried out on 23 and 24 October throughout the country, and showed that 70% of Hispanics thought that Obama had the best interests of the Latin community at heart, compared to only 27% for Romney.
