
The Dominican Republic athletics delegation is a team to watch in the World Athletics Championships that will take place at the Hayward Field at the University of Oregon 15-24 July 2022. Around 2,000 athletes representing 200 nations will run, jump, or throw for glory.
The Dominican team of nine athletes is led by Olympic silver medalist Marileidy Paulino (400m), who this year won the Iberoamerican Championships in Spain (49.49) and two Diamond League events.
Among the events to follow is the 4 x 400 mixed race with the participation of Paulino, Fiordaliza Coffil, Alexander Ogando and Lidio Feliz. The DR relay won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Others on the Dominican team are former Olympic 400m silver medalist Luguelín Santos, his brother Juander Santos, who will compete in the 400m hurdles, 400m runner Fiordaliza Coffil, sprinter Yancarlos Martínez, in the 200m, and triple jump specialist Ana José Tima.
