The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Dallas Mavericks 105-100 in game four of the Western Conference playoffs. The series is now 3-1 in favor of Dallas. No team has done a comeback from losing three straight games in an NBA semi-final. Game 5 is set to be played on Thursday, 30 May 2024 in Minneapolis.

ESPN attributes the win to Karl Anthony Towns busting out of his shooting slump and scoring 25 points in the 28 May 2024 game. Karl Anthony Towns is a member of the Dominican national basketball team.

His teammate Anthony Edwards in the press conference after game 4 explained: “Everything came together for him; he was super confident. He played exceptionally well, and he came through big-time. He was the reason we won tonight.”

ESPN reports: “Towns shot 9-for-13 from the field and 4-for-5 on 3-pointers, scoring 10 of his points in the fourth quarter to help the Wolves finally exorcise their late-game demons after folding down the stretch through their 0-3 start to the Western Conference finals.”

During the press conference, Towns said: “It’s Game 4, down 3-0, ain’t no time to have any doubts,” Towns said. “Go out there and be aggressive, shoot my shot like I’ve been doing all series, being confident in every shot I shoot.”

The winner of the Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves playoff will match Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA finals that start on 6 June 2024.
