After several organizations pointed out the irregularities, the director of the Procurement Agency (DGCP) Carlos Pimentel announced he has resigned to his new paying job, that of director of the Public Private Alliances Agency (DGAPP). He will keep only his original job at the DGCP. Pimentel has been in the position at the DGCP since August 2020.
An unusual presidential decree had named him to direct both the DGCP and the DGAPP, even after the legal advisor of the Presidency, Antoliano Peralta, sent in writing his opinion that this would create conflicts of interest. Pimentel accepted to be paid only for the new position at the DGAPP.
Now, 7 Dias online media points out Pimentel will need a new presidential decree because his job at the DGCP is honorary.
The law that created the DGAPP establishes that the director cannot hold another position in government.
