A councilman is among the five men who were arrested last weekend with a stash of 810 pounds of marijuana inside a pickup truck in the southwestern border province of Elías Piña. The report says that when the vehicle was searched, eight cream-colored sacks containing 83 bales of marijuana were found in the back of the vehicle.
The police report on the case indicates that the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) alderman of the Guanito municipal district, Rafael Montero Ubrí, 30, was arrested along with Maltire Moreno Rosario, 38, Dauyel Fortuna García, 27, Ramón David Peña García 43 and Manuel Peralta Mejía, 49, says the police report on the case.
The group was arrested in the Blanco area of the municipality of El Llano, Elías Piña province on Saturday, 10 September 2022.
