On why Serra was sent to Elias Pina

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Judge Jorge Subero Isa, told Hoy newspaper that Judge Anikssa Serra Mota was transferred to Elias Pina for poor performance in her work at the Sixth Court of Instruction. Furthermore, he said that Serra is currently under investigation by the Department of Judicial Inspections due to the large number of releases and closed cases her court has produced. While Subero Isa did not address the matter further, sources indicate that these closed cases include an extraordinary number of narcotics-related cases. Nevertheless, he they have no proof of any grave wrongdoing by Serra, and if they did they would submit her to a disciplinary trial. The Supreme Court leader said that, pending the results of the investigation, the Supreme Court in full would decide on appropriate actions to be taken. Serra?s transfer and the dismissal of the employees under her authority were reported in DR1?s Daily News on 3 August.
