Diario Libre reports that airport operator Aerodom is placing responsibility for the inconvenience that has arisen with the Army’s air cavalry on the Airport Department. According to Aerodom, the director of the Airport Department (DA) Andres Vanderhorst, is not qualified to assign space at the new El Higuero airport, which is under its administration and in which they have invested more than US$30 million. Aerodom spokesman Ellis Perez explained that space occupied by the Army’s air cavalry was assigned by the Airport Department, beyond its legal responsibilities. Aerodom is also complaining that the Airport Department has assigned hangars to people “who don’t know what an airplane is, who have probably never got on an airplane, let alone own one”. Perez stated that Aerodom is waiting for the contracts with the main airlines in Herrera to be completed, because they provide a service to the public-at-large, and Aerodom wants to give them the best spaces and locations.
