The event also celebrates the declaring of Santo Domingo as the Gastronomic Capital of the Caribbean by the Academia Iberoamericana de Gastronomia and the La Real Academia Espanola de Gastronomia. The event is open to the general public from 13 June to 1 July.<\/p>\n<p>SDQ Gastron\u00f3mico is organized by the Dominican Hotel &amp; Tourism Association (Asonahores), the Dominican Gastronomy Academy the Dominican Association of Restaurantes (Aderes), the Santo Domingo Hotel Association (AHSD), the Dominican Association of Chefs (Adochef) and Hosteler\u00eda News.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will include cooking demonstrations, workshops and the visit of Michelin star and cooking pro Susi Diaz (La Finca, Madrid).<\/p>\n<p>Among the planned events for SDQ Gastronomico are:<br \/>\n13 June. Gala Dinner at the Fortaleza Ozama, Colonial City.<br \/>\n14 June. Cocktail Party at the Fortaleza Ozama, Colonial City.<br \/>\n20-24 June. Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants.<br \/>\n28-30 June. Hosteleria Food Fest. Hotel Embajador.<br \/>\n28 June. Copa Culinaria de las Americas. Hotel Embajador.<br \/>\n1 July.
