There was a major focus on the problems of plastic wastes and waste management in the Dominican Republic. The visit had the support of the Dominican Armada, the Swiss Embassy and the Dominican-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. The visit coincided with the passing of Hurricane Irma.<\/p>\n<p>The Race for Water Odyssey team participated in the conference \u201cThink Innovation: Waste &amp; Energy for Sustainability\u201d.
