From January to October 2017, expat Dominicans sent home US$4.89 billion, while last year the sum was US4.49 billion. Most of the remittances are sent from the United States, and Spain, with 73.57% and 13.67%.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Bank says that residents in the provinces of Santo Domingo, Santiago and Duarte province and the National District received 56.59% of all the remittances sent this year.
