The DGA reports it collected RD$115.33 billion in taxes, up RD$12.6 billion in 2016. Enrique Ram\u00edrez, director of the DGA, said this is extraordinary given that in 2017 the country was affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria that caused a 24% decline in import tax revenues in September 2017.<br \/>\nAdding to the total collections, the DGA reports that logistics centers collected over RD$1.21 billion in 2017, and are part of a new regional cargo consolidation strategy to facilitate trade.
