Ricardo Garc\u00eda, director of the Botanical Gardens, highlighted the importance of improving the structure given the large number of visitors to the Botanical Gardens. Garc\u00eda explained that the gully had been carrying untreated sewage and surface water from the low-income communities around the gardens, bringing concerns for the health of the visitors to the gardens.<\/p>\n<p>Mont\u00e1s of the CAASD explained that the works include the installation of an area for the transferring of aquatic flora, conditioning of the access points to the equipment used for cleaning, construction of cofferdam (elements that are used to channel water flows) for the diversion of the so-called Gran Ca\u00f1ada that passes through the Botanical Gardens.
