The Fundaci\u00f3n Patronato Cuevas de las Maravillas notes they have resisted attempts by groups that seek to invade the caves property.<\/p>\n<p>The letter advises that the Cuevas de la Maravillas attraction is a public-private partnership that is situated on land owned by the State Sugar Council (CEA). Given that it is government land, the tourist-based Foundation has rebuffed several attempts to privatize the site.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation leaders reiterated to the legislators the ecological and cultural importance of the caves and the surrounding area.
