Other PLD members aspiring for their party\u2019s presidential nomination include Reinaldo Pared Perez, president of the Senate, and former Minister of Industry &amp; Commerce Tem\u00edstocles Mont\u00e1s. The Medina cabinet officers met at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, 15 March 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Conventional wisdom regards former President Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez and even incumbent President Danilo Medina as the leading pre-candidates for the party\u2019s nomination.
