Conventional wisdom regards former President Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez and even incumbent President Danilo Medina as the leading pre-candidates for the party\u2019s nomination. While the 2015 Constitution bans Medina from running, his followers are energetically looking for a loophole in the nation\u2019s laws or are pushing for an amendment to the Constitution (through Congress action) that would allow Medina to once again run for the nation\u2019s highest elected office.<\/p>\n
