The religious organization says that the intention of the mining companies is to discredit the outspoken priests, implying that the priests may have even been physically threatened. The priests have been active in opposing the expansion of mining activities in the country.<\/p>\n<p>In a signed document, the priests warned the public that the companies that seek to exploit mining resources in Loma Miranda and southern mountain areas have attempted to intimidate them, but that they would remain firm in their opposition to the expansion of the mining by these companies.
