The alleged narcotics kingpin, Ramon Del Rosario Puente (To\u00f1o Le\u00f1a) is currently being held in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia where he arrived from Santo Domingo, according to international intelligence sources. The reports indicate that To\u00f1o Le\u00f1a, his wife and daughter, arrived in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia and were arrested by officers from different security agencies. According to the information, the arrest of Rosario Puente came about after authorities in Colombia were alerted from the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n
The alleged drug trafficking boss is requested for extradition by the United States on charges of money laundering and conspiracy. Sources told El Nacional newspaper that To\u00f1o Le\u00f1a could be sent to the United States to face these charges.<\/p>\n
The accused, according to Dominican, Puerto Rican and United States authorities, is tied to shipments of more than 20,000 kg of cocaine and heroin. He served five years of a reduced sentence in Puerto Rico. He was deported to the Dominican Republic in August 2015.<\/p>\n
