The rains are due to a low pressure system currently located to the north of the Dominican Republic. Rains are expected for the next 24 to 48 hours, in the East, Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, the central mountains and along the frontier according to the Onamet bulletin. There are alerts in place for Santiago, La Vega, Monsignor Nouel (Bonao), Sanchez Ramirez, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, Duarte (San Francisco de Macor\u00eds) and Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Cabrera).<\/p>\n<p>Basically, this green alert considers the possibility of sudden flooding of rivers and creeks because of the heavy rains.
