The Center for Emergency Operations (COE) reported that 3,070 persons had to be evacuated in San Crist\u00f3bal after major rains flooded the provinces of San Crist\u00f3bal, to the southwest of Santo Domingo. COE reported the overflowing of the Yubazo, Nigua and Blanco rivers. Hundreds of dwellings were affected and dozens of communities isolated.<\/p>\n
One person, 77-year old Eugenio Contreras was reported dead, having drowned in the flooding waters of a gully.<\/p>\n
The main water damages occurred in the communities of Madre Vieja, Mosc\u00fa, Los Americanos, Pueblo Nuevo, Los Cacaos and Cambita that were assisted by representatives of the Civil Defense, Red Cross and Police.<\/p>\n
The COE declared 24 provinces on weather alert.<\/p>\n
