Afterwards, reports are that the Venezuelans were taken to the Centro de Detenci\u00f3n de Haiti in San Crist\u00f3bal from where they would be deported.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, 11 May 2018, Rodr\u00edguez had participated in a hearing by the InterAmerican Commission of Human Rights (CIDH) on the situation of Venezuelan immigrants in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Rodr\u00edguez was arrested along with Jes\u00fas Manuel Osorio M\u00e1rquez, Elvis Enrique Rinc\u00f3n Zicardi, Yuli Rinc\u00f3n Pi\u00f1ate, Francisbel del Valle Mac\u00edas and Alcides Osorio M\u00e1rquez. According to Serrano, Rodr\u00edguez has legal status in the country and has for the past year been accompanying fellow Venezuelans to pay the fees to extend their stay in the country. He said the Migration agents in Dajab\u00f3n \u201cknow\u201d her.<\/p>\n<p>Venezuelans can travel to the Dominican Republic without a visa and, generally, they are granted a permit to stay of up to two months in the country.
