Attorney General Jean Alain Rodr\u00edguez announced on Thursday, 7 June 2018, his office has filed with the Supreme Court of Justice the Odebrechts bribes accusations case related to 17 Odebrecht construction contracts signed during the governments of presidents Hip\u00f3lito Mej\u00eda, Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez and Danilo Medina. The cases presented were those in which strong evidence was found to build the individual cases.<\/p>\n

Upon making the announcement, he said the prosecutors did not find any evidence to include Punta Catalina thermoelectric power central in the case. He said they are waiting to receive the file from the Chamber of Accounts regarding overvaluations at the power plant. Rodr\u00edguez said the accusations are submitted as a result of investigations lasting 130,000 work hours by 50 professionals of different fields.<\/p>\n

The case began in January 2017, after a New York City court incriminated the company and disclosed company executives admitted to paying US$92 million in bribes to Dominican government officers for the expediting of the public works in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n

Rodr\u00edguez says the Public Ministry formally accuses Odebrecht commercial representative, businessman \u00c1ngel Rond\u00f3n Rijo, former Minister of Public Works V\u00edctor D\u00edaz R\u00faa, his lawyer Conrado Enrique Pittaluga Arzeno, former president of the Senate Porfirio Andr\u00e9s Bautista Garc\u00eda (PRM), legislator Tommy Alberto Gal\u00e1n Grull\u00f3n (PLD-San Crist\u00f3bal), Juan Roberto Rodr\u00edguez Hern\u00e1ndez, and former president of the Senate and PRD leader Jes\u00fas Antonio V\u00e1squez Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n

The Attorney General said that investigators did not find evidence to incriminate C\u00e9sar Domingo S\u00e1nchez Torres, Bernardo Castellanos de Moya, Juan Tem\u00edstocles Mont\u00e1s Dom\u00ednguez, Julio C\u00e9sar Valent\u00edn Jimini\u00e1n, M\u00e1ximo De Oleo, Alfredo Pacheco Osoria, Ram\u00f3n Radham\u00e9s Segura or Ruddy Gonz\u00e1lez with the crimes of bribery, asset laundering and ordered the temporary filing of these cases.<\/p>\n

In a speech broadcast on radio on Thursday, 7 June 2018, Rodr\u00edguez said the accusations were the following:
\n\u00c1ngel Rond\u00f3n is accused of association of criminals, bribery and money laundering.<\/p>\n

V\u00edctor D\u00edaz R\u00faa is accused of bribery, prevarication, forgery, illicit enrichment and money laundering.<\/p>\n

Conrado Enrique Pittaluga Arzeno, is accused as an accomplice in the crime of bribery, and in crimes of illicit enrichment from criminal activity and money laundering.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9s Bautista, Tommy Gal\u00e1n Grull\u00f3n and Roberto Rodr\u00edguez are accused of the crimes of bribery, forgery, illicit enrichment and money laundering.<\/p>\n

Jes\u00fas Antonio V\u00e1squez Mart\u00ednez, is accused of bribery, illicit enrichment and money laundering.<\/p>\n
