Their main focus is the nation\u2019s highway system together with its drainage and bridge systems.<\/p>\n<p>The MOPC Emergency Committee system is linked to the bulletins issued by the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) and the reports from the Center of Emergency Operations (COE), and is ready to go into action as soon as conditions permit.<\/p>\n<p>The areas that are most vulnerable are in the eastern portion of the island &#8212; Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Romana and La Altagracia. These areas tend to receive the greatest water load from tropical storms and hurricanes. Obviously, Greater Santo Domingo is also a major area of interest for the Ministry.
