Residents in rural areas are more supportive, with backing from 57.8%. In the north and southern regions, his backing is 49.3% and 51.4% respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Despite having the backing of around half of voters, this support is a significant drop from the 87.4% a Gallup-Hoy poll registered in February 2014. By February 2017, Medina\u2019s popularity had already dropped to 62.7%. Medina has been President since August 2012.<\/p>\n<p>43% of voters answered to the question on Medina\u2019s government performance that it had been positive, 30% gave Medina a negative, and 24% said regular.
