Dur\u00e1n said that the dismantling of the network followed 22 months of hard intelligence work by the Specialized Investigation Division against Migration Crimes (Deidem) from the Central Investigation Agency (Dicrim).<\/p>\n<p>Among those arrested are three women and 14 men and an Italian citizen, who charged each client between US$10,000 and US$20,000 for a passport and other fake documents to travel overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Those arrested are Fabia Teresa Soler Silvestre, In\u00e9s Tomasina Ortiz (alias) Nena, Jenny Cecilia Reyes N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Juan Pablo Soto Lara, Delio Amago Izalguez Aquino, Andr\u00e9s Beltrand (alias) Chemo, Hilari\u00f3n Rafael Mois\u00e9s (alias) Papito, Rub\u00e9n Dar\u00edo Leger Ferreras (alias) Leger, Nelson F\u00e9liz Reyes (alias) On\u00e9simo, and Nelson Encarnaci\u00f3n Polanco.<\/p>\n<p>Also arrested were Savino Zacaro (alias) El Italiano, Alberto Antonio Amaro Santiago, Lucas Alberto Rafael Compr\u00e9s D\u00edaz, Alexis Reyes P\u00e9rez (alias) Moreno, Dennison Amauris Mej\u00eda Bautista (alias) Spencer, Carlos Manuel B\u00e1ez B\u00e1ez (alias) Calit\u00edn, and Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez D\u00edaz.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police the gang heads were Fabia Soler and Juan Pablo Soto, who employed Lucas Compr\u00e9s, Dennison Amauris Mej\u00eda, Alexis Reyes P\u00e9rez, Alberto Antonio Amaro and In\u00e9s Tomasina Ortiz, to look for people and then they bought all of the stolen passports.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation revealed that passports were forged, altered and sold and came from Canada, Spain, France, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic so that their clients could travel illegally to the United States, Europe, and other countries in Central America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>Read more in Spanish:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/listindiario.com\/la-republica\/2018\/11\/04\/540388\/apresan-17-miembros-de-red-dedicada-a-la-falsificacion-y-trafico-de-personas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Listin Diario<\/a><\/p>\n<p>6 November 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to police spokesman, Colonel Frank Duran, a powerful network of travel document forgers and human traffickers has been dismantled by the National Police with the arrest of 17 of its members in simultaneous operations.
