Upon making the announcement, Economy &amp; Planning Minister Isidoro Santana called the platform a mechanism to monitor the economic, social and environmental situation at the border. The platform focuses on the border provinces of Pedernales, Independencia, El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a and Dajab\u00f3n, the poorest provinces in the country. He said the information gathered by the platform confirms these provinces have the highest rates of interprovincial migration.
