Only 5.6% of the population of the country considers their neighborhood or community is safe. Dominicans attribute crime to low unemployment, poverty, lack of educational opportunities and drug consumption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The poll also had questions about road safety and learned that in 8% of the households in the Dominican Republic there was at least one person who had been in a traffic accident in the past 12 months.
