Joselito Hernandez, the little boy that lost his sight to a stray bullet last year, and who has made great progress at the National Center for the Education of the Visually Impaired (The National School for the Blind), has more problems to overcome. It seems that the government institution that was paying for his transportation to and from the school, about RD$6,000 per month will not keep up the payments.<\/p>\n
Pastora Reyes de Bueno, the school’s director, went to the Listin Diario to explain how she was worried that the little boy would not be able to complete his training. Currently, Joselito is reading and writing in Braille, and has learned to use a walking stick around his barrio where he regularly plays with his friends. He no longer lives with his grandparents in the Gualey section of Santo Domingo where the accident happened, but now he lives in Sabana Perdida with one of his aunts.<\/p>\n
