With a record crowd of around 6,000 persons (1,000 more than seated capacity), Altos de Chavon welcomed rock star Sting on Wednesday, 26 April. The closing was a surprise for all. Percussionist Felle Vega, Sting’s Dominican counterpart for the evening returned to the stage, and then Dominican contemporary music darling, Juan Luis Guerra picked up a guitar and song the vocals along with the British music legend’s rendition of “Fragile” for a 10:25 pm grand finale to the hour and a half concert that all present will be commenting on for years to come. The Broken Music Tour concern had Dominicans singing along to many of Sting’s most popular hits, had begun with the classic, “Message in a Bottle.”<\/p>\n
