Juan Luis Guerra received the Lifetime Achievement Honor at 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards that took place on 25 April 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada for his many years of inspiring Latin songs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the occasion, Juanes of Colombia opened the segment with an introduction and speech before Kany Garc\u00eda performed \u201cBurbujas de Amor.\u201d Then Pedro Capo gave what was described as a spirited rendition of \u201cOjal\u00e1 que Llueva Caf\u00e9\u201d and Fonseca finished with a heartfelt version of \u201cLa Traviesa\u201d that brought a smile to Guerra\u2019s face, as reported by Billboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billboard recognized Guerra for his exceptional and enduring career. He is described as one of the most recognizable names in Latin music, one who has throughout his 35-year career launched 15 successful albums and sold over 30 million records worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billboard recognized the Dominican musician, composer, singer and arranger for bringing the sounds of bachata and merengue to the world. Billboard highlights: Guerra has notched 42 songs on Billboard\u2019s Hot Latin Songs chart. Six of those songs hit No. 1, including the chart toppers \u201cLa Llave de Mi Coraz\u00f3n\u201d which reigned for four weeks in 2007, and \u201cCuando Me Enamoro\u201d the Enrique Iglesias song on which he is featured, which led for 17 non-consecutive weeks in 2010. On the Top Latin Albums chart, he\u2019s placed 11 top 10 titles and three No. 1 albums. Guerra\u2019s song \u201cOjala Que Llueva Caf\u00e9\u201d is one of the best-known Latin songs of all time. His most recent “Kitipun,” the first single from Guerra’s upcoming album Literal, was released on Friday, 5 April 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, Ozuna was honored with 11 wins, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. The previous week he had performed for Dominican audiences on 20 April 2019 at Casa de Campo\u2019s Altos de Chav\u00f3n Amphitheater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
