It is the story of a \u201ccan\u2019t miss kid who turned out to be more of a miss than a hit.\u201d \u201cThe Dominican Dream\u201d premiered over the weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York prior to debuting on ESPN. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u00f3pez was a heavily hyped high school superstar from New York who had stayed in the city to play at St. John\u2019s University, but never lived up to the expectations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While an injury cut short his professional career, the film tells a story of perseverance and family.
