Casta\u00f1os Guzm\u00e1n said the Constitutional Court could also rule against the measure that eliminates the drag vote in 26 provinces, but keeps it for the National District, Province of Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Vega, San Crist\u00f3bal and Puerto Plata on grounds that these provinces have electoral districts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A majority of opposition political parties had requested that voters be allowed to cast their votes directly for senators, deputies and municipal candidates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision by the JCE has met with widespread opposition.
