Vicente Garc\u00eda is promoting his new merengue-centric album. The media has praised the complex fusions in his new work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young prot\u00e9g\u00e9e of Juan Luis Guerra reached a pinnacle of his career in 2016, when his \u201cA La Mar\u201d album won three Latin Grammys for \u201cBachata en Kingston,\u201d and \u201cCarmesi\u201d. In his most recent album, he sings the track, \u201cLoma de Cayenas\u201d with Guerra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garc\u00eda says his work is also influenced by Wilfrido Vargas, Sergio Vargas and Johnny Ventura, the pioneers of taking merengue global. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Garc\u00eda is on the road again promoting Candela, described by Rolling Stone online as full-tilt and funky, combining merengue and urban sounds with Caribbean intensity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garc\u00eda is going on tour with his new album and will have presentations in New York on 13 July 2019 and in England, Spain and Holland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garc\u00eda\u2019s new album follows a new push in favor of repositioning merengue abroad. Other merengue albums launched last week were \u201cLiteral\u201d by Juan Luis Guerra, \u201cMas de cien, un poco mas de m\u00ed\u201d by Johnny Ventura, \u201cMilly & Company\u201d by Milly Quezada, \u201cMorirso\u00f1ando\u201d by Gabriel Ventura and \u201cA Paso Fino\u201d by Jandy Ventura. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
