President Danilo Medina\nsent his sympathy to David Ortiz. “We deeply regret the incident of which\n@DavidOrtiz, one of the most supportive Dominicans I have ever met and someone\nwho has made our Dominican Republic very proud.” He said: “I talked\nto him before he left for Boston and we have been in contact since last night\nwith his father and Leo Lopez following up on his condition. With God’s help,\nwe hope for his quick recovery, as well as that of @JhoelLopez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former US President Barack\nObama sent his wishes for quick recovery: “Six years ago, David Ortiz’s\nspirit and resolve helped us all begin to heal from the Boston Marathon\nbombing. Today, I want to join many others in wishing him a speedy recovery of\nhis own. Get well soon, Papi.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former President Leonel\nFern\u00e1ndez said: “It is unfortunate that an international sports figure\nsuch as David Ortiz has been a victim of violence in the country. He is part of\nour cultural heritage.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice President Margarita\nCede\u00f1o: “I pray for the quick recovery of David Ortiz and Jhoel Lopez.\nBoth are examples of hard work, humbleness and solidarity with others. I\ncondemn violence. We want and deserve peace for our country!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President of the PRM,\nsenator Jose Ignacio Paliza, “It is our reality, pure and simple, that the\nbarrios live every day. Crime is winning the battle, Dominicans are good\npeople.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
