Both laws were part of the requirements of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the DR-CAFTA agreement.<\/p>\n<p> The good news is that with the signing into law of the bills, the consular invoice is outlawed and will no longer be required for exports to the DR. As reported in Hoy newspaper, the consular invoice represented RD$12,500 for each shipment worth more than US$4,000.
