The elite event is a qualifier for the World Triathlon Cup in Maui, Hawaii. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Athletes will compete in several events. These are the 1,500m swim, 30km bike and 10km run. Also the sprint category that includes a 750m, 15km bike, and 5km run.  There will be three trail run competitions: half marathon (21km), 10km run and 5km run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event puts Saman\u00e1 on the global triathlon map, say organizers Rosanna Pelaez and Manuel Medrano. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will be staying at the Viva Wyndham V Saman\u00e1, Cos\u00f3n Bay and Sublima Saman\u00e1 hotels in Las Terrenas.
