The politicians Dom\u00ednguez Brito, Andr\u00e9s Navarro, Tem\u00edstocles Mont\u00e1s, Radham\u00e9s Segura, Maritza Hernandez and Gonzalo Castillo are competing to receive the favor of President Danilo Medina in the ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aspirants to the PLD candidacy had agreed to let polls determine who would be the best candidate to compete in the 6 October 2019 primary against leading politicians, former President Leonel Fernandez, Melanio Paredes and Manuel Crespo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The companies carrying out the polls are Greenberg, Gallup, Emevenca and Stella Le\u00f3n. Preliminary surveys show the stronger contenders are Francisco Dom\u00ednguez Brito, Gonzalo Castillo and Andr\u00e9s Navarro. <br>\nThe polls were held 2, 3 and 4 September 2019 in time for the 6 October 2019 primary.
