The public hospital is a regional teaching hospital. The Medina administration reports investing RD$353 million in the reconstruction and equipping of the 150-bed hospital. The construction was under the Office of Engineers Supervisors of State Works (OISOE). It mainly serves the populations in San Crist\u00f3bal, Peravia and San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa provinces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Health Minister Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas; the director of the National Health Service, Chanel Rosa Chupany; and Dr. Ivanhoe Vladimir Balbuena, director of the Juan Pablo Pina Hospital were present. San Crist\u00f3bal Governor Julio C\u00e9sar D\u00edaz Rosario and Senator Tommy Gal\u00e1n, and San Crist\u00f3bal Mayor Jos\u00e9 Nelson Guill\u00e9n also attended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his keynote speech, the director of the OISOE, Francisco Pagan Rodriguez called the hospital a benchmark of the national health system.
