Special forces were sent to the border, given the violent disturbances currently taking place in Haiti. The military is working in coordination with the Dominican Armada that is patrolling the coasts of Manzanillo and Pedernales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the acute fuel shortages in their own country, Haitians are increasingly attempting to fuel up by crossing the border into the Dominican Republic.
