The rains affected Santiago, La Vega, Mao, Santiago Rodriguez, Espaillat, Puerto Plata and Dajab\u00f3n. The Amina river and the dam at Guanajuma in Mao both overflowed and momentarily cut off several surrounding communities. The flooding of the Amina rivers interrupted the flow of traffic to Mao and Guatapanal. Civil Defense brigades worked into the night clearing debris from the roadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The overflow of the dam at Guanajuma, isolated the communities of Pe\u00f1uela and Hig\u00fcerito. In Santiago Rodriguez all of the surrounding rivers, Inaje, Guayubincito, La Cana and Guayubin were reaching flood stage as a result of the heavy rains. In Jarabacoa, at least eight houses were damaged by flood waters from the Yaque, in El Pozo.
