The HOMS is the largest private hospital in Santiago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. H\u00e9ctor S\u00e1nchez Navarro, director of Meta Integra and deputy director of HOMS, presented the new comprehensive care unit for obesity. &#8220;Meta Integra has a medical and technical team trained to provide a distinctive and innovative service under the criterion of comprehensive management of patients with obesity,&#8221; said the specialist in bariatric surgery and robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Danilo Medina was present for the inaugural. He broke ground at the same event for a new professional tower adjacent to the hospital in Santiago. Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol, president of the HOMS board, said the tower will house specialized medical services, a convention center with capacity for 400 people and a hotel. S\u00e1nchez said the HOMS has fulfilled its initial purpose of giving Santiago, the region and the country a center offering quality medical services, in keeping with the world&#8217;s scientific and technological advances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new HOMS professional tower-hotel project calls for the construction two buildings, one of 13 floors for professional medical practice spaces, meetings and a biomedical research laboratory. The 10-story hotel is for the recovery and post-surgery services for family members and medical professionals who come from abroad to perform procedures at the HOMS. The new professional complex also has a conference room, with a capacity of almost four hundred people, auxiliary business rooms, multiple classrooms and spaces for events.
