He replaces Joaqu\u00edn Ger\u00f3nimo, who had resigned to participate in the presidential campaign of former President Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez. At the time of his appointment, Marte N\u00fa\u00f1ez had served as governor of the province of La Vega. Previously he had been director general of the national land registry (Catastro Nacional). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Danilo Medina also announced career judge Eunisis Vasquez will replace Victor Grimaldi as Dominican ambassador to the Holy See (Vatican). Grimaldi had 11 years in the position. At the time of her appointment, she was judge of the second hall of the Civil and Commercial Chamber of the Appeals Court of the National District. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Danilo Medina also appointed Juan Carlos Guerra as vice minister for consular affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
