The loan would be to increase the operational efficiency of Edesur. The contract was signed on 21 October 2019 between the Dominican government and the Interamerican Development Bank. It will fund the first phase of the Master Plan for the Expansion of the Distribution System (PMESD). The loan was submitted to the Senate on 23 January 2020.
