This was confirmed by his cardiologist, Dr. Pedro Ure\u00f1a. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>B\u00e1ez Figueroa was the CEO of Banco Intercontinental (Ban\u00ednter) from 1993 until its collapse in 2003. He was also president of the publishing house List\u00edn Diario, owner of the television stations Telecanal and Supercanal, Aster Communications LDT, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the collapse of the bank, B\u00e1ez was sentenced to ten years in jail.
