{"id":137280,"date":"2020-03-03T16:01:52","date_gmt":"2020-03-03T16:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ny1.dr1.com.do\/wordpress\/?p=137280"},"modified":"2020-03-04T00:52:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-04T00:52:13","slug":"prm-calls-for-halt-to-ministry-of-public-works-propaganda-jce-complies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/2020\/03\/03\/prm-calls-for-halt-to-ministry-of-public-works-propaganda-jce-complies\/","title":{"rendered":"PRM calls for halt to Ministry of Public Works propaganda, JCE complies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/dr1.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/PRM-Hoy-e1583283119381.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137286\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Electoral Board has ordered the immediate stop to propaganda for the presidential and congressional elections given that the campaign for these has not yet opened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) had officially requested on 2 March 2020 that the Central Electoral Board (JCE) order a stop to an advertisement from the Ministry of Public Works that promotes the presidential candidate of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), former Minister of Public Works Gonzalo Castillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PRM explains that articles 195,196 and 197 of the Electoral Regime Law 15-19 expressly prohibit state entities from promoting any of the candidates nominated by the political parties for the elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The political delegate of PRM before the Board, Orlando Jorge Mera, explained that the video entitled &#8220;Accountability 2012-2020&#8221; is paid for by the Ministry of Public Works. The long video was openly rejected in social media.
