{"id":137732,"date":"2020-03-16T12:51:18","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T12:51:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ny1.dr1.com.do\/wordpress\/?p=137732"},"modified":"2020-03-17T03:22:03","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T03:22:03","slug":"ministry-of-health-designates-fad-hospital-for-covid-19-patients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/2020\/03\/16\/ministry-of-health-designates-fad-hospital-for-covid-19-patients\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Health designates FAD hospital for Covid-19 patients"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"290\" src=\"https:\/\/dr1.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Hospital-Ramon-de-Lara-El-Caribe-e1583192808648.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137187\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Health Minister Rafael S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas announced the Ramon de Lara Military Hospital, of the San Isidro Air Force Base in eastern Santo Domingo has been designated as the dedicated medical unit to handle Covid-19 patients and those that the health system determines should not maintain domiciliary quarantine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Sunday, 15 March 2020, the Ministry of Public Health Minister S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas told reporters that the Ram\u00f3n de Lara Hospital has 70 beds to attend Covid-19 patients and another 15 are being added this week. Nationwide he said there are 376 beds at the four designated hospitals. S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas said that by the end of the month, there will be 600 beds nationwide. This is way up from the 12 beds available in early February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister said that the medical staff will be provided with psychological assistance, sufficient rest areas and will work just six-hour shifts to be in top shape to attend their patients.
