The Global Strategy Group, a polling and political advisory company hired by the PLD, indicates that Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez, the presidential candidate for the Partido de la Liberaci\u00f3n Dominicana is ahead with 42.3% of the vote, while Jos\u00e9 Francisco Pe\u00f1a G\u00f3mez, presidential candidate for the Partido Revolucionaro Dominicano, is in second place with 38.2%. Third, is Jacinto Peynado, of the PRSC, with 11.3%. Some 6.5% of those questioned were classed as “undecided”. The results of the opinion poll were announced by Alexander S. Jutkowitz, and the PLD directors, Danilo Medina, Adonaida Medina and Temistocles Montas. The poll was carried out between 12-18 April. If a second round is necessary, the survey indicated that Leonel would receive 57.2% of the vote, while the PRD would receive 40.5%.
