A “retrospective exhibition” by Dominican painter Jaime Colson is currently being featured at the UNESCO building in Paris. The 72-works will be on show to the public until 17 July, and then transferred to the Casa de America in Madrid. A chronological presentation has been adopted, starting with Mr. Colson’s time in Barcelona in the early 1920’s and ending with his last known painting in 1972, two years before his death. Jaime Colson’s work ranges from cubism to surrealism, having produced both in Europe and in the Dominican Republic. Those present at the opening of the exhibition included the Dominican Ambassador to France, Candido Geron, the owner of the works, Juan Jose Bellapart, and art critics Laura Gil, Manuel Nu\u00f1ez and Marianne de Tolentino.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
