Santiago leads with the most new cases from the previous Sunday. Some 10,075 PCR diagnostic tests are accounted for in the official statistical bulletin that covers up to 12 April 2020 at 6pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most confirmed PCR cases are in the National District and Santo Domingo Province (Greater Santo Domingo), Santiago, Duarte and La Vega and Puerto Plata.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 12 April at 6pm, the largest increase in cases were reported for Santiago (40), Santo Domingo province (34), the National District (27), Duarte (27), Puerto Plata (14), La Romana (9), La Vega (8), Espaillat \/Moca (5), La Altagracia (5), San Crist\u00f3bal (5), Hermanas Mirabal \/ Salcedo (5) and Peravia (4) of the 31 provinces and the National District. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has announced it has stepped up testing with the arrival of donations of rapid response blood tests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Bulletin #25 of the Ministry\u2019s Epidemiology Department, the evolution of the health crisis nationwide is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National District: 948 cases, 27 new cases, 21 deaths <br>\nSanto Domingo province: 546 cases, 34 new cases, 29 deaths, including 1 new death<br>\nSantiago: 403 cases, 40 new cases, 14 deaths<br>\nDuarte (San Francisco de Macor\u00eds): 300 cases, 27 new cases, 57 deaths<br>\nLa Vega: 200 cases, 8 new cases, 6 deaths<br>\nPuerto Plata: 87 cases, 14 new cases, 8 deaths<br>\nMonse\u00f1or Nouel (Bonao): 79 cases, 1 new case, 3 deaths<br>\nEspaillat (Moca, Gaspar Hern\u00e1ndez): 72 cases, 5 new cases, 3 deaths<br>\nLa Altagracia (Higuey, Veron, Punta Cana): 69 cases, 5 new cases, 1 death<br>\nSan Crist\u00f3bal: 66 cases, 5 new cases, 2 deaths<br>\nLa Romana: 60 cases, 9 new cases, 1 death<br>\nS\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez (Cotu\u00ed): 58 cases, 3 new cases, 5 deaths<br>\nHermanas Mirabal \/ Salcedo: 55 cases, 5 new cases, 9 deaths<br>\nSan Pedro de Macor\u00eds: 38 cases, 7 deaths<br>\nMar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez \/ Nagua: 38 cases, 2 new case, 1 death<br>\nSan Juan de la Maguana: 20 cases, 3 deaths<br>\nPeravia: 25 cases, 4 new cases, 1 death<br>\nValverde: 18 cases, 1 new case<br>\nBarahona: 15 cases<br>\nSaman\u00e1: 15 cases, 1 death<br>\nAzua: 15 cases, 3 new cases, 1 death<br>\nMontecristi: 9 cases, 3 new cases<br>\nSantiago Rodr\u00edguez: 8 cases<br>\nHato Mayor: 8 cases, 1 new case, 1 death<br>\nMonte Plata: 5 cases, 2 deaths<br>\nPedernales: 3 cases<br>\nEl Seibo: 3 cases <br>\nDajab\u00f3n: 1 case<br>\nIndependencia: 1 case<br>\nBaoruco: 1 case<br>\nSan Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa: 1 case, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a remains the only province with no reported cases of Covid-19 as of 12 April 2020 at 6pm, as reported in Bulletin #25.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haiti reports 40 confirmed cases and 3 deaths as of 12 April 2020. <br>\nNew York City reports 6,898 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Health Minister Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas said the increase in deaths is because statistics were updated after it was verified that probable coronavirus deaths should be tallied as such. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the story:<br><a href=\"http:\/\/YouTube\">Ministry of Public Health press conference<\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirusrd.gob.do\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Boletin-especial-25-COVID-19.pdf\">Coronavirus Bulletin #25<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14 April 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to Coronavirus Bulletin #25, the Dominican Republic has 3,167 confirmed cases, 200 new cases and 177 deaths.
