There are 955 patients hospitalized, including 135 in intensive care units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bulletin #34 carries statistics up to 21 April 2020 at 6pm. The tally includes the results from 18,261 PCR diagnostic tests. The results from rapid response blood antibody tests are not included in the statistical report. The Dominican Republic has a population of more than 10 million people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Monday, 21 April at 6pm, the most confirmed PCR cases continue to be reported in the National District and Santo Domingo Province (Greater Santo Domingo), Santiago, Duarte (San Francisco de Macor\u00eds), La Vega, Puerto Plata, Espaillat (Moca) and Monse\u00f1or Nouel (Bonao).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest increase in cases were reported for the National District (42), Santo Domingo province (42), Duarte (33), Santiago (32), La Vega (26), Espaillat \/ Moca (24), San Crist\u00f3bal (9), Hermanas Mirabal (9), Puerto Plata (8), La Altagracia (7), Monse\u00f1or Nouel (6), S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez (6), Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez (5), La Romana (3) and Saman\u00e1 (2). In the other 17 provinces, 1 or no cases are reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Bulletin #34, the evolution of the health crisis nationwide is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National District: 1,295 cases, 42 new cases, 34 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santo Domingo province: 992 cases, 42 new cases, 38 deaths, including 2 new deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santiago: 670 cases, 32 new cases, 41 deaths, including 3 new deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duarte (San Francisco de Macor\u00eds): 519 cases, 33 new cases, 72 deaths, including 4 new deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Vega: 387 cases, 26 new cases, 7 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puerto Plata: 174 cases, 8 new cases, 11 deaths, two deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Espaillat (Moca, Gaspar Hern\u00e1ndez): 162 cases, 24 new case, 5 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monse\u00f1or Nouel (Bonao): 159 cases, 6 new cases, 3 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez (Cotu\u00ed): 133 cases, 6 new cases, 6 deaths, including 1 new death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Crist\u00f3bal: 126 cases, 9 new cases, 3 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Altagracia (Higuey, Veron, Punta Cana): 100 cases, 7 new cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hermanas Mirabal \/ Salcedo: 134 cases, 9 new cases, 11 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Romana: 95 cases, 3 new cases, 2 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez \/ Nagua: 74 cases, 5 new cases, 3 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Pedro de Macor\u00eds: 54 cases, 7 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valverde: 32 cases, 2 deaths, including one new death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peravia: 36 cases, 1 new case, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Juan de la Maguana: 38 cases, 3 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Azua: 24 cases, 1 new case, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barahona: 33 cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saman\u00e1: 21 cases, 2 new cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montecristi: 15 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santiago Rodr\u00edguez: 17 cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hato Mayor: 9 cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monte Plata: 11 cases, 3 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pedernales: 3 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Seibo: 4 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa: 4 cases, 2 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dajab\u00f3n: 2 cases, 1 new case<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Independencia: 1 case<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baoruco: 4 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a remains the only province with no reported cases of Covid-19 as of 20 April 2020 at 6pm, as reported in Bulletin #34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haiti reports 62 confirmed cases and 4 deaths as of 20 April 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See the epidemiological bulletins at:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirusrd.gob.do\/\">Coronavirusrd<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/map.html\">John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23 April 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to Coronavirus Bulletin #34 of the Public Health Ministry\u2019s Department of Epidemiology, the Dominican Republic has 5,360 confirmed cases, 256 new cases and 260 deaths.
