There is no scientific evidence the cats can spread the disease to humans. Yet, the story is circulating as a warning to Dominican cat lovers to take extra care and, just in case, put their cats in lockdown, too. Reports from the Harbin Veterinary Research Institute in China say that dogs are not really susceptible to the infection. Chickens, pigs and ducks are not likely to catch the virus, either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The possibility of cats spreading the disease is now front news after two cats tested positive for the disease in New York state. The cats both had mild respiratory symptoms, but are expected to recover.
