The state of emergency is extended from 18 May to 1 June 2020. The state of emergency eases government procurement and spending for situations created by the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Widely overpriced procurement has marked the Medina administration contracting during the state of emergency. Leading investigative journalists and opposition politicians have presented significant evidence of the irregularities in procurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Bulletin #59 issued on 17 May 2020, there were 12,314 confirmed cases, 204 new confirmed cases and 428 deaths since the first case was registered on 1 March 2020.
